Giro Giro Hitoshina is the name of a restaurant in Kyoto serving Modern Kaiseki meals. Trip Advisor rating of 4.5 stars. This is typical of the “finds” which are hidden away in a back street, with minimalist signage that gives no clue as to what lies inside.

Restaurant Entry

Located beside one of the many canals in Kyoto, and run by a young team of chefs, this restaurant serves the most amazing 7 course dinner – each course beautifully presented.  Bookings essential, cash only, very reasonable set course price.

Our table on 2nd floor overlooking the canal.
One of the dishes – finished cooking at the table over a ceramic portable hibachi, using a large leaf as a plate.

Jim’s Japan visited and enjoyed an evening meal at Giro Giro in April 2016.
